Cesar Fraga, University of California Davis, USA
Professor Fraga received his doctoral degree in Chemistry from the University of Buenos Aires in 1985. Since 1990 he is Professor of Physical Chemistry at the School of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Buenos Aires and Researcher at the National Council for Scientific Research (CONICET), Argentina. From 2004, Prof. Fraga is associated to the Department of Nutrition, University of California, Davis. He is Associate Editor of the journal Food and Function. Has published more than 150 articles and given talks in more than 100 scientific conferences. He is editor of the book “Plant phenolics and human health: biochemistry, nutrition and pharmacology” (2010) and was President of the VI International Conference on Polyphenols and Health in 2013. His research is centered on the biochemical mechanisms supporting the role of bioactive phytochemicals in cardiovascular, metabolic and intestinal functions.
